Water Heater Cleaning

All water heaters should be cleaned every 1~2 years to remove sediment in the tank. If you don’t clean the tank, your faucet would be possibly clogged by the sediment

You need to shut the inlet water valve off

Open the drain valve at the bottom side of water heater and also you need to disconnect water line. Otherwise, you can’t drain perfectly because of vacuum situation in the tank. After draining all the water, reconnect the water line and open the inlet valve and drain again until the sediment comes out. If you think all the sediment is out, you can shut the drain valve off and heat the water in the tank.
